From ” Cián du Giorgi” vineyards to the winery, the road is short, but rich in complexity. After a manual harvest, the grapes are selected with extreme care and transported by hand on typical ‘little trains‘ of the Cinque Terre. When you cannot bet on quantity, quality is everything!
The grapes arrive “up high”, because here you either go up or down, and this time they are transported on four wheels to the cellar, a space of 30 square meters, constantly cool tempered, immersed in the inner valley of Vernazza. Here takes place the hand sorting of the grapes.
Vinification is natural, with spontaneous fermentation, and no added yeasts. The vats used are selected regarding on the characteristics of the grapes, as well for the aging process: stainless steel tanks, amphorae, wooden barrels and Demijohns glass, respecting a practice of 2000 years ago.
Moreover, in the cellar Riccardo and Adeline renounce to any enological additive and the only device used is temperature control which helps to maintain a constant cooling of the room.
And it is thanks to the cool, dry microclimate that the Sciacchetrà grapes are dried in the cellar, with the bunches hanging from the ceiling on hooks and chains, once again keeping faith with the centuries-old history of this area.
Today “Cián du Giorgi”, which aims at total conversion to biodynamic, produces a few thousand bottles of different types, all of which are the highest expression of viticulture in the Cinque Terre.
The “dress” also has its importance and the wine labels have been designed with paintings by the Welsh artist Susie Barrow who, after wine tastings both in the vineyard and in the cellar, has succeeded in best representing the character and “soul” of each wine, using as pigments of dusty earth, leaves of the vines and fragments of rock from the dry stone walls of the “Cián du Giorgi” terraces.
The graphic design of the labels and the logo of the company are made by Alfio Antognetti, owner of Res Wine.
The logo depicts the “raspon”, the typical pickaxe used by generations of winegrowers under the pergolas of this impervious and enchanting lands

The colour is bright gold. The nose expresses complex aromas of orange blossom and ripe yellow-fleshed fruit, citrus fruits, cedar peel with a delicate hint of honey; vinous hints, high iodine perception.
The taste is rich and dense. It immediately soars with good balance, evolving on fruity notes; ample and enveloping, with a slight tannic note, marking its persistence.
Maturity, warmth, power, persistence…all perfectly united and balanced for a great elegance. It closes long, leaving the mouth clean on citrus recalls, a mineral and saline note that adds depth.
